My IL trip did not pan out. My truck broke down on the way up there, and we limped it home. It was hard to recover from after prepping for it for months. Once they told me I could get a refund for the hotel, I did not worry about trying to make it back. My buddy who was also going up there, broke down too, so I am saying it was a sign from above for us to not get there.

I have been trying to get my 5yo one the last few trips with no luck. We are seeing deer, he just cant seem to get them in the scope good. I told him his time is running out though lol..
I got a hunt coming up at Oak Mountain that I am pretty optimistic about, I have some cameras out, hoping dad can connect on something. I have let several smaller bucks go with my bow, but it is getting about time to connect on one.

Fellas
Just checking in. I haven't forgotten to post, I just haven't shot one all year. Pretty tough sledding as far as hunting this season.
I lost a good buck in bankhead on opening weekend that I shot with my bow and could not find
Smooth missed what would have been the biggest buck of my life at my hunting club in Hale county
I was counting on January to bail me out on some public land where I usually have a lot of success but that has been abysmal so far. I managed to see what would have been a shooter but he was in some thick stuff and I couldnt get a shot.
Less than ideal, but I am gonna be like Cignetti says: unaffected by success or failure on the previous play and stick to it. Hopefully have a better update soon

I have had nothing to report. Does and spikes are all I've seen and my numbers aren't where I need to shoot any does. Will try again tomorrow.

I finally connected with one on the Fred T hunt I went, a pretty 9 point. I will get him uploaded when I get a chance. Other than that, been trying to get my boy his first deer, which has now turned into him wanting a buck, lol so we have been looking for one of them.
