Public school people think every player on the private school team is on scholarship. That’s so far from the truth. Take UMS Wright for example. They usually have 2-3 kids on the field that are on scholarship. The rest of them are just hard nosed mean rich kids that are well coached and well disciplined. I don't have kids old enough to be worried about this topic but the statement about UMS wright is dead on. We played them multiple times. They usually had 2-4 very good athletes and the rest were hard nose and disciplined. We, at a public school had equal or more players getting recruited but UMS did not make many mistakes on the football field, if any, and thats what made them so good. Always had a lot of respect for Coach Curtis for it. Not sure how it's operated now. That was a long time ago
