Trying to say there's no deference in private and public school recruiting is just plain stupid. The public schools just need individuals to live in specific areas. Private schools are giving scholarships that include tuition and fees being waved, there's no comparison. When my son played in the west mobile park league they were offered during middle school years lol. City run school systems are doing the same thing Every kid on the public school team is on scholarship. Zero public school players pay to go to school there. Unless it’s a city school and the kid lives out of the school zone. Tell me again why a private school letting a kid go to school for free is an advantage over a public school letting a kid go there for free? The private school letting one go for free isn't the same. Ill assure you theyre only letting one that makes them more competitive. Bench warmer isn't getting a free ride. Exactly my point. So you have a mediocre player interested in coming to the private school that will definitely help the program. He’s not great, but will play some and help elevate practices. The family can’t afford to go there but don’t qualify for financial aid. Private schools don’t get that kid. A public school does. Public schools get the advantage there. Public school people think every player on the private school team is on scholarship. That’s so far from the truth. Take UMS Wright for example. They usually have 2-3 kids on the field that are on scholarship. The rest of them are just hard nosed mean rich kids that are well coached and well disciplined. They work hard and are super smart.
