Trying to say there's no deference in private and public school recruiting is just plain stupid. The public schools just need individuals to live in specific areas. Private schools are giving scholarships that include tuition and fees being waved, there's no comparison. When my son played in the west mobile park league they were offered during middle school years lol.
City run school systems are doing the same thing
I live close to a "public" school that was in the playoffs. They've recruited my son and several others from nearby county, private and city schools. They give a "scholarship" to athletes. Regular students can attend and pay $X amount. This school will require the athlete to be held back if he is of a certain age. They have been doing this for several years and have been very successful.
I agree with Atoler. I think a lot of it has to do with the parents being involved. Our private school has had success against larger schools and I promise you it was not because we had more talent.
