We have the same problem in Georgia schools. Here, we have divisions and regions within those divisions (as is typical for most states) to determine what schools play whatever other school within their division. Apparently the divisions do not apply to private / military schools. The private / military schools will skip around and play different divisions throughout the year before settling into a particular division at the end of the year.
My son who plays for a 4A school played (what shouod be) a 1A school. I do not understand why the Georgia high school association has divisions for the public schools, but the others can play in whatever division they decide to play. It makes zero sense.
