Here…..sitting tight on a trail from a swampy spot leading to hard woods. Thick to my right. Deer seem to hug the thick stuff headed to the oaks and buffet the neighbors have. Duck hunters scattering steel shot sounds like 4th of July.

Sitting in the shooting house with my wife this morning. She is from Mississippi and this is her first Alabama hunt, so maybe they will be on their feet.

There were bucks in this spot all night long. Not sure if they gonna slip up this morning though. Gosh it’s pretty though. And this secondhand Nomad Cottoneood stuff I picked up from Engineer5 is as advertised. I brought a heater but I’m downright cozy in this stuff at 31 degrees.

Back out in the clear cut this morning. 6 does and a spike so far. Dang east wind is pretty chilly up here on this hill.
