I’ve seen 16 bucks the last two afternoons in food plots and not a single doe or fawn. Is that a problem?

That was by far the best hunt I’ve been in in a while. Most deer I’ve seen in a hunt here. The best part is everyone of the passed within 100yds of me. Also we have a bumper crop of fawns and yearlings. #12 was the only doe I saw without a fawn or yearling with her. She weighed 96lbs and was dry. She didn’t like that 140gr Accubond.

My point is we have plenty of does, and just because we aren’t seeing them while hunting, means nothing. It’s an observation from two hunts. I may hunt the next two evenings and see 16 does and fawns and no bucks.

Was proud of that one. To my knowledge, that was the oldest deer on the place and HEAVY. He did good. Proud of how he held it together long enough to make that shot. He’s had a history of getting rather worked up. 😂

In my area the deer hasn’t gone anywhere . They just feasting on the mass crop is acorns . Don’t care how many plots you got or how much corn you pour out because god supplies the feed with the acorns . It’s nature way of taking care of itself . If you think deer will leave acorns an eat your corn or plots something wrong with ur thinking . The deer I’ve seen is the fattest I’ve seen in a long time . Just sit under an acorn tree .

I honestly believe the rate of bucks to does is an even 50/50 on my place in Kennedy the last 3-4 years. My place in Millport, not so much. Awesome buck Matt! I saw it on Sorgum Hollow Facebook. Nice!

Congrats to Your Son Matt. I'm shocked every Year at the bucks that area kicks out..I know not all aren't posted online but the quality seems as Good as anywhere in the State maybe even exceeding the traditional black belt Counties down South.
