Just wondering if anyone has had any luck removing the duratouch layer on a browning rifle with anything. Someone told me alcohol but it doesnt seem to do the trick. It is a camo stock so whatever i use i dont want it to remove that as well. I know browning will fix it for free but i really dont want to take the scope/rings/bases off and send it in and wait for 3 plus months. Cant just send in the stock because that would be to easy. The gun is a shooter and i really dont trust the shipping process to get the gun there and back the same way it left. I may end up having to do it but was gonna check here first to see if there was something i could do.

Acetone razor blade steel wool elbow grease. I know it's not a quick easy solution but you get to keep your rifle and avoid shipping costs.

Yes. Brakleen parts cleaner will take it off. I removed mine using this. Spray it on, soaking it pretty well. It will start to bubble up, then can wipe it off with a hand rag. May take a second spraying in places, but it’s coming off.

It’ll take it all off if you soak it well enough.

What he said. I’m sure it’s all gonna come off.
But, you can sponge paint it, and then spray it with about 3 coats of matte clear coat, and you have new camo stock. I did that as well, but have since replaced it with a McMillan gamewarden 2.0.

I sent a Browning Maxus back a few years ago. There was not shipping costs. Filled out a warranty request form and they sent me a shipping label. Sent it at a UPS Hub, not a regular UPS store.
Packaged it in a hard case and plane cardboard box. It was delivered back directly to me about a month later.

Sent a Browning A5 back a few years ago. No charge but it took a few months to get the gun back.

Thanks for the replys.. i ended up taking the stock to inverness outdoors to get cleaned up and redipped. They had the same camo in stock to do it in so i went that route.

Send it back to Browning and let them fix it. That's what I did and it came back great. They settled a lawsuit over it and are on the hook to fix them. https://duratouchsupport.browning.com/
