My father in law always soaked some in water in a bucket for two or three days before starting a new corn pile . He seemed to think it would start to get a bit of a fermented small to it which they would smell further away. It never took them long to find it. Just don’t do this. Aflatoxins produce down to 60 degrees and are terrible for deer and turkeys. Same with the whole Mountain Dew thing. The whole mt.dew thing......they love that chit. I don't see what it's hurting. There's some idiots out here pouring clorox out as an attractant.... My goal, if feeding, is to keep corn or pellets as dry as possible until consumed. Most particularly until most days get fairly cold. Same goes with piles in warm weather
