I’m pointing out statewide trends across all 67 counties and not just basing my opinion off of a small handful of the best……Yes it is awesome that counties A, B, and C are doing well……but there’s 57 others that arent…….Its just like point made above about the number of bucks per doe being killed in many of the counties like with the 2800 and 1900 in Jackson…….
How big of a circle will a buck roam on average during the rut in Jackson Co??....Counting any stray walk about ventures he may easily roam a 3 mile circle....right??….I mean that's likely really common with many buck likely roaming farther…..So that means when the rut rolls around and you’re determining how many bucks there are to breed those does on your property……then that buck population you're determining that from extends WAY on out from the boundaries of your property…….The number of potential bucks in your pool is a matter of the totality of what everyone else around you is doing…….So when you have a county like Jackson shooting 2800 bucks to 1900 does……That over harvest of bucks that’s occurring is likely impacting a majority of the properties in the county…..Compare that to a county like Fayette that’s shooting a similar amount of does at 1700 but only shooting 1600 bucks……I bet it’s a lot easier to manage for a good herd in that situation…..That situation doesn’t relate to the other though when saying…..”Just shoot more does and balance the herd”.....and if you look back at the map I posted.....there's a lot more of one occurring than the other......
