I gave my dad my current pair of MT050 bibs, they were in excellent condition still after several seasons of use. They were a tad small on me and I knew he won't buy a good set of bibs to keep him warm and I want him to go hunting with me. I thought I'd just use this opportunity to buy me another set one size bigger. Well, here it is almost November and their online stock hasn't replenished so I think they are discontinued because I don't see any comparable replacement on their website

So....what would yall recommend as a replacement? I'd like them to be waterproof and obviously as warm as the MT050s are\were.

I have owned these, and I currently have the Sitka Fanatic bibs. There is really no comparison between the two.

I had the Midway version before I lost weight. They were OK, but I would still get cold once the temps dropped to 20 degrees or so.

Absolutely not the case with the Sitka. I bought them because I noticed that after I dropped 100 lbs of fat, I was freezing my ass off. The Sitka bibs are so warm, I usually don't zip the legs until I am sitting, and until it drops below 25, I don't need a hat or gloves if I am out of the wind and also wearing the jacket. In addition, the bibs are at least a pound lighter than the Midway ones. Best cold weather gear that I own.

Of course there's no comparison...one set of bibs is $170 while the other set is $400


I got a set of the MidwayUSA Elk River bibs and parka a few years back. Paid $69 for the bibs and $60 for the parka.


I've only been cold in them once and that was because I was started sweating on the way to the stand (was carrying the bibs and parka while walking). Other than that, they have kept me warm, including a full day sit in the stand in sleet and snow back in '22. Think the high that day got to about 35 (both drinks I had in my bag were frozen at 2 that afternoon)

This reminded me to get Day One to make some bibs to go with the coat I got. Oops. Outta bidness. So I checked eBay. No dice for me today, but I saw some of those Cabela's on there.

Rivers west is the absolute sweatiest shit ever made. Just wear neoprene. I’ve got some Cabelas Whitetail Extreme? Insulated WP (MT050?) stuff from a year or two back that’s bulky, but warm as heck and quiet. Their Berber wind shear stuff was awesome. Shoulda kept my outfitter brown set, but it wasn’t waterproof. I have some Sitka shells, and truly good waterproof and breathable outer shells over most any decent insulation layer can get you by in some serious cold, though most are louder than you want.

If you like those Cabelas, why not just buy a some in your size? Now, if you are wanting something a little warmer, that's different.

The new ones are cheap bass pro junk. The reviews are quite poor. They state cheap material that rips easy. I have the older cabelas version and they are warm, just heavy. But they’ll keep you warm in serious cold.

Go to eflay — I bought some of the older pants this past summer. They are still in great shape. I think $28 with shipping. I’m probably didn’t need them with the old military wool pants I have but hey, nothing wrong with having a choice.

Get huntworth extremes at rural king. Under three hundred and just as good if not better than Sitka

Yeah, I've heard some good things on those Huntworth's, imadeerhntr.

One that hasn't been mentioned is Furloh ----- They are a little more expensive than Huntsworth, but lifetime warranty and made in USA.

I'm running the allclima pants this year, bought on a 30% off sale, they have been fine on the cooler mornings we've had so far, without any merino bottoms so far.
