According to the guy who weighs corn every day at the feed store here by the house, a 55gal drum usually holds about 350lbs. 350÷55=6.36lbs per gallon. My totes are 330 gallons. 330x6.36=2100lbs. If you look at the ibc totes when theyre full of liquid, they arent full, theyre a few inches from the top. They filled my tortes slam full of corn so i assumed i probably got 100lbs or so more per tote. Is my math right?

I bought 125 bushels from a farmer for 4.50 a bushel. Around 7000 pounds
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts,hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I buy it by the ton from a local farmer and store it in a few of these containers that sit on homemade steel saw horses. I bought the door from tractor supply and installed it to make filling the buckets easier. Yes your math is correct. 330 / 55 = 6 barrels , 6 X 336 = 2,016 Fill it full would put you at 2,100 , maybe a little more.

I bought 140 of the 50 lb. bags of cleaned corn last Friday for $7.75 per bag, no tax. Of course, much of it will be used for my cattle.

Im getting shelled corn by the 55 gallon barrel where im at for $40 a barrel. I think last year I was getting it for $40-$50 a barrel depending on who I bought from.

Madmax, How did you get it into the tote? I've seen it done like JW stated, but cutting a door in the top. The sacks that we get the corn in have a funnel tie on the bottom. Raise the bag above the container, untie the funnel and line it up with the hole in the top of the container. Maybe a gallon at best comes out the side that I pick up.
