First one was shot from straight on in the chest…..I think the deer whirled on them or was standing a little quartered and the arrow came out of its leg instead of penetrating the chest cavity…..We tracked it 500 yards to where it wallered in a creek and then left and headed back the way he came……A couple hundred yards past the creek we decided it wasn’t fatal
The second track was likely a single lung hit……Hunter only got about 6-8 inches of penetration but had good looking blood for a couple hundred yards……We jumped him still alive at about the 500 yard mark 6 hrs after the shot…..
From the looks of the arrow the last track was likely a high shot from a ground blind through the top of the shoulder……They had a little blood for 150 yards and then it trickled out…..The track had been grid searched to death by a big group of folks and nothing was marked where last blood had been found or anything so it made it super tough to work though…..We did what we could with it and called it……Cool thing about this track was that it was for the QB of the Auburn high school football team that I’ve been watching all season…..Didnt even realize it until we got to chit chatting on the walk out.
