Its amazing the hole they will put in a deer. I've always been a 2 blade expandable broadhead guy until this year. I hit my buck in illinois between the 4th and 5th rib from the back and it knocked a hole in him the size of a base ball. It was mostly a liver shot but I got the back of the lungs too I think. He went 100 yards and piled up.I also shot a doe up there on a quartering away shot I hit the shoulder on the offside and I'm not really sure what happened to her i found the back 8 inches of the arrow and the lighted knock. I was 100% certain I smoked her but we lost blood after 200 yards. The blood trail was unbelievable with pink frothy blood everywhere and with a 20 yard shot it almost took her off her feet at impact. I could watch her run across the ag field for about a 100 yards before she entered the woods. Im also curious how the arrow broke off as the fletchings were angled rearwards as she ran. She wasn't at a super steep quartering away angle either. It does seem like right after we found the broken part of the arrow the blood started getting spotty pretty quickly. So maybe at the angle I only got one lung and the entrance hole got clogged up with some kind of organ? It was very odd

say what you will about that Ranch Fairy guy BUT he does have a lot of content & examples where he explains what can happen in situations like your shot on your doe ... he's even done several post-kill autopsies where he shows how the broadhead passed through the organs ...

Some of the worst shots I’ve put on deer where with mega meats and they was dead within 100 yards.

I agree on the Mega Meats. They are brutal. I decided to switch to the Evolution Whitetail Fury this year and hope I don’t regret it.

On your doe. What’s your arrow setup and speed your shooting? I had a similar shot last year on a doe with the MMs. Quartered away, 25yds the hole deal. At the shot she looked like she was hit with a rifle and dug taters leaving the plot. Completely broke the offside shoulder and got an exit. Broadhead was toast as expected but found her.

If I remember correctly. Last year I was shooting a 480gr arrow setup around 285’ish.

Dang. Man I think you can shoot 100 deer in the same manner and likely get multiple different outcomes. Sometimes it just happens that way.

Shot my first deer with a MM last week. Not a great hit. Mostly liver im guessing. Dead 60 yards from where i shot him. Unbelievable at the hole/damage.

They do some damage but they are a 1 time use head. I have shot 2 deer with them and the blades were destroyed. I shot one in a block target and it bent a blade. I’m going back to grim reaper

Post some holes. I've ALWAYS shot fixed heads but I'll be using the deadmeats in November late season archery. I love hunting in the snow and hoping a nice one comes by...
I used the G5 Striker-X on my bull this year with a 1-1/4" cut and it got nicked up but, he paid for it...

Ramkats. A fine Broadhead, shoot like a like a field point, cut is1,and3/8ths". Absolutely amazing killer. Cuts in and out, if no pass through.

Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

I have never shot a megameat, but i kilt deer with a t3..an seen alot of deer kilt withem, some flew weird thus why i didnt mess withem much..but theyd flat nock a hole in sumpn..an g5 has always made some incredibly well engineered broadheads and some of the sharpest heads ive ever seen. Their unique design just makes them pop..i mean..you cant go wrong with a great functioning product that just looks dang good to boot. They make a great product..an I murdered crap with montecs too..i dont know how many oigs i kilt with the same montec…i mean…ot wudnt even that sharp no more an it still cut well with sheer speed alone.
