I personally have not and that's a great sign that most of what government does is for government. However, loan processing for some types of loans are causing havoc with some buyers and lenders. It's caused a slight downtick in new mortgage applications and home purchases. I've not done an inspection on a home with a VA loan or USDA loan since it shut down.
75% of our government could go completely away and we'd be better off. That's why Trump isn't rushing to make things happen. He's letting the democrats dig their own graves. He's easily identifying what can be permanently shut down.
I'd personally like to see all foreign aid of any kind nixed too. If it continues, he's going to be able to definitively prove the government can be funded by Tariffs alone and that cannot be a bad thing either. As much as you hate him, if he accomplished that and reduced business and income taxes, it would benefit all Americans who work or own businesses.
Do I believe all of that could happen? No. But I'd be happy with even a little bit of it

Yes the boat ramp is busy. The gate at one of the Skyline roads has had a vehicle or 2 there almost every morning. Some folks were prepared and enjoying it. Not as bad as first of Covid folks working from home but almost.
It has affected Medicare patients of mine…likely will affect our reimbursement though is affecting our visit type right now. Frustrating. They shouldn’t make a dime while not working

We did. Once they get stuff turned back on, we’ll get to making ‘25 crp rental payments, ‘24 crop subsidy payments and in counties that triggered other disaster programs…those payments.
The museum and visitor center at Gettysburg was all open. It looked to be staffed with all volunteers. I'm assuming that they were all townspeople seeing as how that park is so intertwined with the city of Gettysburg itself. They couldn't shutdown the park, because it surrounds the whole town. No way in or out without going through the park.
Most of the historical places we have been to this last week on our travels have all been privately funded organizations: The Moravian Village and Old Salem, Jamestown, Yorktown, Mt. Vernon, etc...

I went to a va dr a week or so ago. I asked him if he was working for free? He asked me what iwas talking about. I said its all over tv that government employees are not getting paid. He said that was bs, him and everyone he knew there was getting there regular check. Asked my sil, whos in the military. He said he didnt know where it was coming from but him and all his buddies were getting paid. Hmmmmm

Someone donated funds to keep the military paid and did not want to be named. I guess is that it is Elon. There isn't a whole lot of folks with pockets deep enough to donate that amount of funds.
The ones that vote to shut it down have no reason to open it. It doesn’t affect any thing they do. They are wealthy and their family is wealthy. Some don’t have to work much less have a government job.
I had a INR appointment ..I says to the nurses aids ... the Democrats want over a trillion dollars to give away... I said they're crazy and that's insane amount of money to just hand out to them and I'm all against it...the girls said ...it sure is and they are... ..I went over and got me a seat waiting for my appointment.
So I sit down and say to an old couple waiting for their appointment , look oh good the cooking channel is on,, then I ask them what they're having for dinner ,,, they don't look at me or say a word .. not a peep.. they both get up and I hear the woman tell her dude I can't sit here by this man , he's for making people starve, they go sit on the other side of the waiting room, then and old woman gets up and sits in one of the chairs the couple were in... says to me in a low tone ,, I see it like you do she says, says the dems are nuts I was nodding my head yeah ...nuts I said.
Turns out the radical lefty couple that got up and changed their seating started talking to some black folks and thought they had found some comrades on their side of the fence... this old black dude starts laughing and says in a normal tone dem democrats ain't just nuts their stupid too... then I get called in for my appointment.
