Not surprised if they're owned by Mid South Petroleum out of Vernon. Those dudes bought out our already high as hell gas cartel, and jacked the price up even more.

It seems like long haul guys would be able to choose their stops and avoid overpaying by that much. 50 cents on 200 gallons adds up.

Dollar for dollar fuel prices are the lowest they’ve been in 30-40 years I’d bet During the 70s prices went from .29 to a dollar and gold was around $400 an ounce if recall correctly. Dad gathered up all the gold jewelry they had and sold it. Gold hit $4600 I thought I heard

Some weeks I'll pump close to 100 gallons of fuel for my F150 traveling back and forth across the state. Some weeks I am home much more and only pump 30. I fill up when I get to 1/8 tank. One town will be 30-40 cents higher but drive a few miles price will be much lower. That I don't understand.

Some municipalities will have a small fuel tax added on, but it's generally not over a nickel or so. Some remote locales may have to pay a little more for fuel deliveries...but it doesn't explain huge price discrepancies. Large price differences like you're talking about are plain greed by station owners.

I was told by a person that owned a distributorship that they’ll price check others within a certain distance of soda store.
I know like here you can go and on one corner of Woodward prices will be this at 2-3 different stations. Go down Woodward and there’s two more shells or chevrons and be 5 cent difference than two miles the other direction. I can find 10 cents difference driving around, then add in Walmart and it’ll drop another few cents.

Filled up at the Quicktrip at Cullen for 244 I live there, it’s real handy for sure. Not 100% but I don’t think any of the stores are now owned by anyone local. There is one unmanned fuel station that is owned by a local.

For the longest I bought gas at a rural gas station near my house. It was always a little cheaper than in town. About 2 months ago the locals sold out to the dark skinned ones and they immediately jacked the price up. Now, instead of being cheaper, they are 20 cents a gallon higher than 5 miles down the road in town.

Chilton county is jacked up all along I-65. Full up before you come through. 2.89 here and just dropped to that. I fill up in Calera or Alabaster when I have a chance.
