I do a lot of pier fishing in PCB and no matter how hot it is, I always wear long pants, a long sleeve UPF 50 shirt and face mask. Only thing exposed is the tops of my hands and I keep them coated in SPF 50 sunscreen.

I’m 46. Never wore sunscreen. Hate wearing shirts. Can’t stand long sleeves. Worked outside my most of my life. I should probably go get checked.

My back has scars like I was attacked from a grizzly bear from all the skin cancer and melanoma they have cut out of me. I told my wife I feel like every time I go the lady finds another problem so I’m about to the point to stop going. It seems like it’s a money game now so I tore on whether or not to keep going or stop

It seems like it’s a money game now so I tore on whether or not to keep going or stop If you're ready to check out, go ahead and ignore it. Skin cancers, especially melanoma, will take you out in a heartbeat. If you have a history of skin cancer, ignoring it would be a dangerous game

I had a skin cancer, whatever is not the worst, basal or squamous, cut off my wrist. I feel certain it was from fishing tournaments and sun exposure bouncing off the water. I cut it off once, and it came back. Go see my dermo, she askes you got anything I need to look at, I said yes, this. She goes, I don't like that, I said, well I cut it off once already and it came back. That got me in trouble!! LOL!!
They cut a wide chunk out during the surgury and stitched it back up, man it was tight. That earned me appointments every 6 months for life.

I reluctantly went last summer after my wife insisted with great passion.
Doc found then froze or cut 15 places on my face...pre-cancerous nothing bad but if left alone it could be something bad.
So go get checked. I'm sure we're in the sun often without sunscreen plus all the other facor.

I have been going every 6 mos. for years. I know all about clear margins.

I had a friend who had a thingy on his nose , spot or two on his ear lobes, a couple of skin tags on his neck.... said he lived with em for a long time and never were a bother to him... he takes another friends advice to go see a skin doctor ,,
The skin doctor goes to work on these things.. cleans him up ... didn't tell him though that he fears skin cancer so sends stuff off for biopsy ... calls him back some couple of weeks later and tells him to come into his office for a consultation,, tells him skin cancer ...
Weird thing though,,, it wasn't until that Doctor messed with these growths that they turned on him.... every thing he burned or cut off , they weren't healing up real good... he was told the he's got to get treatment, with what all the treatments he received and all the care they could give him .. almost two years later he died from the cancer..
He told me not long after getting home ,,,he wished he'd a never gone to that Doctor ,,,said, he was ok until that Doctor messed with those things,,, says he fully believed it wasn't cancer till the Doctor messed with em ,... then said to me ,, if you have something on you and it if ain't hurting leave it alone , it was pretty much ,,if it ain't broke don't fix it. Bad advice Very bad advice. I'm a throat/tongue cancer survivor, believe me you don't want none of that. Took me 2 years to get over the chemo and radiation. I was one of the lucky ones. Cancer sucks I agree to the umph degree... very bad advice ...it cost him his life...
