iam with you guys, I was actually aiming for another controversial shot, one to the chest, but the doe ducked her head into the arrow. if your gonna shoot an arrow past 20 yards you have will always have a chance of wounding a deer. deer can move. We are killing deer not harvesting wheat. So I think you answered your question.

Yep just thought we were lacking the annual shot placement thread. In another month there’s gonna be a bunch of threads about needing a tracking dog so they can go cut the antlers off little johnnys deer.

We are killing deer not harvesting wheat. But wounding a deer is different than blowing a mouth off of one and making it starve death. Had to track a couple like this. When you start finding teeth during the track it is not a good sign. Things do happen though, even under 20 yds.

In my humble opinion, head shots are NOT ethical shots to take on deer!
