I’m looking for reviews on the gravity feeders. Definitely interested in those who use them in places where hogs are present. Are they easy to tip from your average pig? I have an older style moultrie with the shelf about 18” high and the pigs jump up and put their paws on it. Looks like these should be out of reach for most pig snouts(if it stays upright).

We have some in a pretty strong pig population. The big ones can eat out of them. They usually bump them and eat what falls out.
They will knock them over when they are empty. Our big boss bucks are inside fences.

I have pictures of this one big sow standing on her back two feet with her front two feet on the feeder eating out of a gravity feeder. That was it for me on free feeds. I ended up buying a 600# spin feeder last year and haven’t looked back. I stake all my feeders with rebar too and I would recommend that if you go that route.

I use a standard Moutrie feeder using the gravity feed horns. I was getting a lot mud on the horns from hogs so I put a set of leg extensions on it and that solved my problem with hogs getting to the feed horns.

Thanks guys. I’m looking at another 200# feeder to complement the 200# moultrie that’s right behind my camp complex. 4 sacks of corn usually lasts two weeks with just the deer but a few hogs can wipe it out in a couple nights. I was hoping to keep something for the does in between trips if most the pigs couldn’t get to it. I have a couple of older 350# moultrie drums with spinners. I had to build leg extensions for those. The spinners are now head high to me. Had one boar that worked my unit over such that it looked like someone took a football bat to it.

For my boss buck I used t posts and feet to secure it so it won’t get knocked over. I had issue with the raccoons and had to put pvc pipe over the t posts so they could climb and get to the feed shoots.

The Banks feedbank 600 set on a 6x6 post are my preference in a gravity feeder around hogs

Had a boar that learned to unwind the barb wire straps on rebar stakes on feeder legs and would put every boss buck feeder on the ground

I've never used one of the boss buck feeders but I am currently using one of the 300lb banks feeders that I bought used from a guy down the road from me and he used it where he hunted and said the hogs were really bad and the deer wouldnt eat out of it so he decided to sell it. Where he was the hogs chewed on the spouts to the point that they chewed holes through the bottom of a couple of them and they could just bump the post and corn would fall through the spouts on the ground.

I have a couple of the 350 pound boss bucks. Don’t get the gravity feeders. I t-post the legs but it doesn’t matter, they reach up and grab the lip of the feeder and will shake out all of the corn in no time. I have videos of them shaking out 350 pounds of corn in just a few hours. Also squirrels for no good reason love to chew holes in them even though they can easily go inside the feeder at will through the spout. I would get a spinner made out of metal if I was you. I would still steak down the legs.

Buy a stump feeder and put cattle panels around it. Deer jump in and eat and then jump out. Hogs can’t

A three legged feeder is how most folks get their first Bear pictures.

We had a bear show up to a Jager Pro trap several years ago. The owner finally went and ran it off after a week.

If you have pigs this is the only way to do it.

The deer on my property were scared to death of mine and finally one doe would eat out of it but nothing else. I built a feed trough and the next day deer were eating out of it.
