60 grit seems really coarse for that. I would do a denatured alcohol wipedown, then use maroon scotchbrite.
Self etching primer next, then follow with a rattle can that lists plastic. I think Rustoleum makes a camo line that will cross. Has worked well for me on rifle stocks.
