You're not as ugly as I thought you were.
I'm glad yo posted those pictures, I've been meaning to get me some beach fishing gear and just start fishing. I think it will make me feel less worthless when I'm out on the beach smokin' and drankin'. I'll still be doing that, but at least I'll be doing productive stuff. Do it! And honestly you don't need any fancy gear unless you just want fancy gear. My "beach/saltwater" gear consists of: a $50ish Ugly Stick catfish spinning combo a $75ish 7' medium-heavy baitcaster that I also use bass fishing at home a 9' 8wt fly rod I also have a dedicated 9' surf rod for cut bait but I rarely use it
