It’s hard to beat wild Turkey 101 as a routine utility whiskey.
I also like bulleit, Buffalo trace, wellers, makers mark.
Any of those seem to make a nice glass of relatively inexpensive burbon for my taste
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes On a good day there's a bunch of assholes in here. On a bad day there's too many assholes in here.

Yeah Envy ain’t Bad, but Eagle Rare is only stuff i've ever gave away, hell was even gonna pour it out! 😂 Ol' BT supposed to be bottom end compared to Eagle Rare, but Rare taste like Keystone and BT like Coors lite! But reckon just my po ass taste 😏

Weller green label 5 trail Penelope wheated
Horse soldier, traveler, ingrams blue label, driftless glen, stagecoach, smoke wagon, Rowan mills. Just some other not common options. When I look for something new I look for basic label, basic bottle, around. 50$. That seems to be a good rule to find a good bourbon.

Last one I bought that I thought was way better than the price was Early Times Bottled in Bond.
I also like Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye, Russian River Rye (cabernet finish), Russell's Reserve, Woodford, Bernheim's, Maker's 46 French Oak, and the excellent Texas bourbon by Milam & Greene.
At a higher price point, anything by Bardstown, Whistle Pig, Blanton's, Booker's, Knob Creek, or Green River. For a special treat, Black Maple Hill.

There's once in a while sippin bourbon that are over priced and then there's the go to, the one you grab for a weekend and don't want to break the bank.
I have bought both and the expensive are no better than the other stuff I buy.
Elijah Craig TX Blended Whiskey (MY personal favorite) Four Roses
I've never been dissatisfied with any of them. I've got three bottles I picked up in GA on Friday. Jesse James Single Barrel, Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace. I only buy those last two when in GA because screw you Alabama lottery.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

Rittenhouse Rye Whistle pig Rye Crown harvest Rye 1792 small batch Bourbon Heaven Hill (green label) was when I could get it. I can’t stand Makers Mark, it makes me feel terrible the next day. Strange I do have some long branch wild turkey I like.

One of the best drinks I’ve ever had, A buddy of mine called right at dark and said he wanted to go kill some pigs. I had just bought a bottle of Early Times to try (just never had it). Threw a couple of ice cubes in a short yeti and just about filled it up with early times. It was cold that night and that drink tasted about as good as you could ask for. Funny how conditions change the taste….., like a dip of Copenhagen after I killed a deer. Long time ago and simple pleasures.

Funny how conditions change the taste….., like a dip of Copenhagen after I killed a deer. Long time ago and simple pleasures. Mrs. Irish and I were riding our bikes out west one year and we had stopped for the night in Clarksdale, MS for some blues. We stayed in the Clark House Mansion. I thought it would be good to have some bourbon on the front porch like we were rich plantation folks. So I jump on the bike and go to the liquor store. Now keep in mind this is dark town. I get there and the place has a little window inside you have to walk up to and the resto fo the place is completely barred up like a jail or something. The guy asks me what I want and of course I want some bourbon, but had no idea what they had. So he kind of looks around cautiously, walks over the the steel barred door and lets me back in the back. Of course all they have in there is bottom shelf rock gut whiskey. So I picked out a 5th of Old Charter for $11, brought it back, we found ice and some whiskey glasses in the kitchen of the old house, poured us a glass each and settled in on the front porch. That might as well have been the best glass of bourbon we had ever had. It was delicious and we had a few.

I never see it in Alabama anymore though for whatever reason.

Anything by Russell’s to include WT 101 mainly as my backup https://www.russellsreserve.com/en-us/Garrison Brothers if I get it at the Distillery or on Base. They have a volunteer program to work there and give you substantial discount ! https://www.garrisonbros.com/I pretty much only buy Texas made brews these days and I only watch Texas News 🤣 All my beer comes from Shiner

Some of those yall listed aren’t bourbons I think. I’m not an expert, but most of the time if it says rye in the name, it’s not a bourbon it’s rye whiskey. Sometimes some are called rye bourbons but there’s not very many.
Mash that is at least 51% rye is rye whiskey, mash that is bourbon has to be 51% corn.
