I'm seeing a lot of people saying Pete doesn't deserve the job he's in. Pete was a Major when he served. He served in combat areas. I wasn't in the military but my father was and I the higher up in rank the less capable many were, at least according to him. Having served in the fire service under one of those officers as chief, I can say I was less impressed with him than any other chief I served with.

I know Obama purged our military more than a decade ago. After that we got ships named after fairies, trans infiltration, ships being wrecked and damaged by our own military. One blunder after another. This purge needs to happen. Not sure that was the correct way to go about it, but it needs to happen. It's top heavy with soft ass pussies who aren't qualified for the jobs they are in. Pete wants them gone to promote qualified candidates into those positions. He's just getting the ball rolling and putting anyone who cannot perform at the expected level on notice the soft ride is over. Road gets bumpy from here.

In my experience the soft ones will quickly weed themselves out. The ones deserving will thrive. That's the way it should be. Military, law enforcement, fire service. The department I worked with has added multiple females since I retired. Only one I'm aware of is capable of performing at high levels and she exceeds most of the men, at least for now. The rest absolutely could not pull a victim from a fire by herself. That's a compromise most men would rather not have to work with.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
