I can understand your perspective, but when I start worrying about expenditures, I think about all of the dumb shit we use money on - especially overseas. Condoms for Uganda. Studying the impact of homosexual blowfish on their reproduction in the Pacific. Gathering these folks up to convey the seriousness of what's before us is worth a bit of end of the fiscal year burn. Better than new furniture, right?

IMO the taxpayers should be pissed about how some of our military looks (fat generals, lol) and the dumb ass training and other things have infiltrated the ranks these days - hence the need for this very public adjustment of the culture.

We laugh about the headlines and how sensationalized they can be...Its almost like Trump won and we are getting what we voted for. That fact seems lost on the left and some of the right too.

I haven’t mentioned one thing about expenditures nor does that factor into my opinion.

I have seen the government spends millions to save one life, I’ve seen them spend millions on office equipment. The government spends what it spends.
