A lot of times folks will talk about doe sinks as if it’s a bad thing….For me I just look at it as how the game board sets up on a landscape level….These places of improved prime understory loaded with 2nd year roughs are what supports many of our herds at a population level…..These are your main reproductive grounds in todays world of a landscape saturated in coyotes……These may be some of the only places on the landscape in that area that arent seeing 60-80% fawn mortality…..I would be more than happy to own a property that was labeled a doe sink if I were in such an area……You just need to recognize it for what it is in the larger context in which it exists…..If you’re the only one in the neighborhood managing for prime understory then it is what it is……..You’re the nursery and you wont shoot your way into changing that setup
