When are the scout day(s) for Cedar Creek deer hunt? I drew 1/15 deer hunt at Cedar Creek.
When do I get to scout it? I’m familiar with how the scout day works for SOA turkey, but this is first I’ve drawn and deer hunt.
TIA You’ll get an email sooner or later from whoever runs the SOA you drew telling you what days the scout days are. It’s usually the first weekend in October.

Anybody hunted Portland Jan 6-9? I have early Feb before and all they were talking about was how good mid January was for rut activity.

I rolled the dice on Portland 1/22 alternate and got the email this morning bumping me to Hunter status. Would love any advice that might help me make it count once I get my area assignment! We’ll be there the same weekend. 👍🏻

I declined a December hunt at Portland, two days later received an email that I was an alternate for Portland Jan 5th hunt and accepted it. Next day I was upgraded to Hunter. Same thing happened to my buddy and he has cedar creek on 1/22 which I’ll be going in with him.

I just got an alternate email for Fred Stimpson. Me too. I declined it. I am trying to build up SOA deer hunt preference points to in hopes of one day getting a Mid January Portland Landing hunt. I got a Cedar Creek SOA Early February hunt a couple years ago and it was as good of deer hunting as I have ever had in Alabama.

No draws over here. I was hoping at least for a primitive hunt to take the flinter out for a stroll. Maybe next year. Congrats to those selected!

Mrs. Bamaeyedoc declined 16 either sex hunts on Portland, cedar creek, and Thigpen hill so several folks got bumped to hunter status. You’re welcome!

Dont give up hope. Just got an email I got bumped to hunter. Didn't get picked for hunter or alternate during the original drawing.

I am wondering if something is amiss with the selection process. I got an email saying I’m an alternate for cedar creek 1\15 hunt, but I’ve already accepted the 1/6 Portland hunt..I’m awaiting an email that says “gotcha” better luck next year!
