I can usually get them shaving, but I have one that I put through a deer into a log that I can't get back more than barely cutting hair. Anyone ever have a problem with shallow heat treat with these?

Never done that before. Did bend one ever so slightly that was tough to sharpen. A vice and channel locks straightened it back out somewhat

Are you getting a burr?

Yes, but then I'm right back where I started for sharp.

You need to look up chris spikes on youtube and watch him do it…he uses a hewlitt jewel stick and gets them razor sharp every time

Jewel stick works great but then so do the cheaper round sharpeners. When you get a burr, turn it over and let just the weight of the sharpener be on the broadhead to remove the burr. Afterwards strop on leather.

Stay sharp guides work great. I’ve sharpened broadheads too sharp to handle with them.

I put one through a doe a couple days ago that I had shaving and is still sticky sharp enough to hunt. It's just the one specific broadhead that I'm having trouble with. I think I'll just buy more and mark the problem for practice only.
