Why was he charged with two counts of murder?
Two counts of Capital Murder. Keep in mind I don't know the details but there are a number of ways that can make it Capital Muder, so he's charged with each way, even though he only killed one person allegedly. It seems that he was charged after reports of, or officers saw, what was deemed a "suspicious person". Now there are those out there that will call this racial profiling but I say it was just good police work. There is a fine line between profiling and good policing.
