I know the ALDeer crowd knows all the badass tricks to handle trespassers and thieves. What I had to think about was the folks I was dealing with had a long history as felons, with some of their actions having been violent. And they know where I live. I don't worry about myself, but these folks would think nothing of hurting my wife, kids, or grandkids if they thought it would discourage or get even with me. Let the law handle it, if they will.
FWIW, the family I was dealing with was later arrested; the man, his wife, their oldest son and his wife, their youngest son and his girlfriend. Cooking meth and sell and distribution. Supposedly, the dad had been bragging to local buddies he had killed 15 bucks that summer and had lost count of the does and fawns. All at night.

Shingles work well as spike strips wraps around the tire and gets all the spikes in on the action.
Works especially well if you have some pine needles around on the ground

They probably won't sue you, just wait for you to go hunting and burn your truck to the ground or camp or anything else of value.

Still turned in every cell cam pic I got to the Sherriff's office and had writ's of trespass on all of them. They stopped. Once they get the spotlight put on them they usually run like roaches.

When I called to report my camp house burning down, the first question the deputy asked, had any problems with your neighbors. We have some bad people in this county, and they will burn you out if you piss them off. I gave them some names, but nothing ever happened. it was 5 days before the fire inspector came to investigate after a good rain.
Grandma said...Always keep a gun close at hand, you just never know when you might run across some varmint that needs killing...

We had a small group 4-5 guys who started hanging around selling meth and stealing stuff. They had stolen an auger from my bil but the picture wasn’t good enough for the law to do anything about it. The good thing about folks selling meth is that if you can catch them while they’re at the bar with a pocket full of it you can whip up on them as much as you want and they won’t call the law. After that they all holed up at a hunting camp at one of one of their grandads places. Finally the sheriff’s department got a warrant to check the camp. It looked like the dean co auction they had so much stolen farm equipment

Only way it will stop is if there’s consequences. Had the same thing happen to me on a place I had just bought that the local screw ups thought they could free range the property like they used to but I called the sheriff and he got the game warden involved and both went and arrested the dude. They were wanting to lock him up from all the stuff he had done prior but didn’t have any proof. When I showed them the pictures of him stealing my cameras and knocking my feeders over that’s all they needed to bust his ass. Turned out he was already on probation so it made matters worse for him getting caught with a gun, night hunting,trespassing, vandalism and theft. After that the word got out pretty quickly with the locals to stay the hell off my property

You haven’t had trespassing troubles until you have an Indian burial mound on your property. Crack heads and all kinds of drug addicts love to dig up folks at night. Bad JuJu and pure immoral to dig up the dead. Almost killed a man there 2 years ago when my warnings not to go to his backpack went unheeded. I was on the phone with the LEO when I had to shoot and the law was there in less than 5 minutes when they heard the shot fired. Folks today will steal anything. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
I can't stand a thief.
