Brother had his Honda 1000-5 on a single for a few years. Really wore the inside of the tires from the weight. Traded up to a dual axle with brakes and it’s night and day difference pulling it. This is why I said what I’ve said about a tandem. Singles will wear badly on the inside from the weight is a SxS. Is that all you hauled on it? I wouldn't think a 1500# sxs would would be enough to bend the axle, and I wouldn't think the tires would wear on the inside unless the axle was bent. I know mine don't. Axle ratings vary but a lot of folks forget to account for the trailer itself. A single 3500 axle with 1500 pounds of trailer sitting on it only has a max(theoretical) 2000 of payload left. And you should not max out your trailer. Add the SxS, a cooler or two of ice, grab a few 50# sacks of corn, etc and you are at capacity quick.
