Lot of ways to measure toxicity. LD50 of imazapyr is >5000 mg/Kg. Salt is about 3000 mg/kg. Which is more toxic? Check out aspirin or other common stuff in your house. You will find a lot of things much more toxic than most herbicides.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.
