Not disagreeing with you Irish,the "problem" is politicians control the military for the most part so now we add political expediency greed power money favors business as opposed to simple offense defense. Militaries should only defend but politicians are Offensive minded. I've heard the argument at several gun schools civilians/police defense Military offense. Which is fine in personal defense and would work nationally if our leaders weren't beholding to the donors who need us to spend on military hardware. Switzerland successfully maintained neutrality through its geography plus the fact that lots of Swiss households have both the Sig 220 and 550 Smg's So invaders will have to go through a Mountain chain somehow and when they get to the X every Swiss is going to start shooting at them.
