I got the Lift 33" QAD arrow rest Ultraview slider sights, 5 pin horizontal sight picture
Going to crank it up to 80lbs, 29.5" draw length, shooting a full length arrow, am thinking about going kinda stiff on my arrow spine. Maybe 250. thinking I might need it at that speed and arrow length. Yalls thoughts?

Not really on the heavy arrow bandwagon...will be bumping up against 500g total arrow weight. 100gr broadhead and 380 gr arrow. I want to shoot fixed blades. I want to make it all the way through the animal. I want two holes and I want to leave no doubt

If you’re dead set on shooting 80#, cut your arrows to 29.5”. The arrow shaft will stop at the front of your riser at full draw and you will not be drawing your broadhead into the arrow shelf area. Doing this will allow you to shoot the 250 spine. A full length shaft will most likely be too weak. I honestly don’t see the point in pulling 80# for a whitetail. I pull 60# and have 26” mods on my Lift and it’ll blow through a whitetail like butter with a two blade mechanical and a 4 blade fixed. I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot that same setup at an elk, but only with the fixed head.

I shoot carbon xpress maxima xrz standard arrow size .244 inside diameter 380 grns total arrow weight. What is your GPI? 8.4 total weight of 380 grns. ive killed 16 elk in my life 11 of them with a 380 grain arrow. shot a bull at 60 yards and blew straight thru him. shot placement is everything. that's why I'm at a tournament every weekend for 6 months. I'm working on me. most people worry more about equipment. I worry more about being able to make the shot and give the animal the respect of a quick death.

shaw made a good point. I use mechanical on whitetails, but killed all my elk with a fixed blade. I did see however quite a few elk that were killed with a mechanical.
