Been thinking of getting a 7mm prc. Looking at the Howa game pro 2.0 and the Bergara wilderness. Which one if any reviews on these 2?
It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

I've got a Howa Game Pro 2.0 in 7mm Rem Mag. It's a good shooter, but it's heavy, especially with a can. Barrel also has a pretty thin profile for a magnum cartridge, but it shoots pretty good for what it is. I also own a Bergara Ridge 22-250. Of the two, I think the Bergara is the better rifle, but I like both of them.

That's the 1st thing I noticed on the howa was the thinner barrel. And the weight. It will be suppressed.
It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

With a full length banish 30 on mine, it feels like I am carrying an oar. I also wonder about what that suppressor on the end of that pencil barrel does with barrel harmonics and accuracy. That said, it shoots about the same suppressed or not, just POI shift.

I am leaning towards a Bergara wilderness sierra since they are available left handed in 7prc. I have read great reviews on the bergara and talked to some guys the praise their quality.

Both Begara and Howa make a good rifle but I would choose Begara.

Both of those are fine rifles, but heavy. Some of the Bergara Wilderness models might be lighter, but the one I had was ridiculous at over 9 lbs.
In that price range, I would buy a Weatherby Vanguard. Made by Howa, just over 7 lbs.

We have two Bergaras and both shoot extremely well and there Customer service has been good.

It's a little more expensive than the Howa or the Bergara but I'd look and hold an Xbolt 2 SPR before I pulled the trigger on one or the other. It's got the Vari-tech adjustable stock, a really good trigger, fluted barrel and comes suppressor ready right out of the box. Son bought one the other day and I really like it.

7 PRC is twisted for longer, heavier bullets. It's not necessarily going to be faster than your 30/06 when you find a loading it likes. I bet a dollar one of those 7 PRCs + suppressor is slower than 7mm Rem Mag + Bluetooth ear muffs.

Ruger American Gen 2 comes in that caliber. I just got one in 30-06 and really like it. Timney makes a drop in trigger for them too. It's probably not on the same level as the guns you are considering.

Owned a couple of Howa bolt actions and liked them. Nothing wrong at all with Howa, however, I just bought my first Bergara (B14-ridge) and fit and finish is superb and is a better feeling gun. Haven't shot it yet, so we will see. My Howas were all excellent shooters, so I'm hoping it will be on par with them. Still have a 6.5 grendel mini action and one of the best modifications that I've made to it was to have the bolt fluted and coated with micro slick cerakote. My Howas tended to have a "zipper" type feel to the bolts when manipulated. The micro slick made all the difference, so if you go that route, it's something to consider.

I don't think you need a 7mm PRC at all unless you are doing long range shooting, not hunting just shooting past 400 yards regularly.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
