Cannot see my cardiologist without prior authorization and the VA isn’t responding to requests
Have been having chest pain for over a week and Sunday I had jaw pain
These are the same symptoms I had when I had the heart attack in 2018
Cardiologist recommended I go to the ER at DCH if this persists but I have to get authorization for this too or within 48 hours after
This is so messed up !!!

Go to sick call at the Tuscaloosa VA, they will get you in an ambulance and send you right to dch. Oh don't worry the VA pays for it.

Call 911. Don't mess around with those symptoms. VA will pay up eventually.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I use them for community care and it's nice going that route. I do the same for dental. Nice living too far away from the providers.

This ain't no time to play. Drive directly to the nearest ER or dial 911 if you can't drive.

Go to the ER and then call 844-724-7842 within 72 hours of the ER visit. I've done it before and it was a smooth process. This is what I did when I went in afib a couple of years ago.

My dealings with the Mobile VA are great.

It's a dang shame our vet's have such awful healthcare. Go to the ER please.

This is why government run healthcare would suck.

Dr sent me some nitroglycerin and I can’t get a nuclear stress test until I have a office visit first
If I have another episode I will go to the ER though I dread walking into DCH

Update on this
Finally got approved for a heart cath
They found two blockages in small arteries on the front of my heart
They won’t cause a heart attack but will continue to cause me discomfort so I’m a candidate for double bypass
The thing is that when they did a CT scan they found something else so I go Monday for a PET scan to make sure I’m cancer free before bypass surgery midweek
The good news is the bypass surgery is going to be done arthroscopic and not in the traditional procedure of cracking the chest open
I should be hospitalized for 2 days and come home
Dr says I’ll feel like I have a bruised rib but will be able to do anything almost right away

Glad you were able to get checked out. Hope the PET scan shows nothing. My VA Dr. is sending me for a stress test next week at the main VA hospital in Bham. This will be my first real experience with VA healthcare.

The VA here in Tuscaloosa does great for me. Bham is big but I've heard good things about it.
