Find someone at US steele. They gave us enough to make "The Thing". It was conveyor belt, with hand holds cut. 3 on each side. two on each end. Made to pick up Lynn in the Fairfield housing projects. Lynn couldn't walk if she got over 900 pounds. We used the thing to get her up. Carried it on top of the engine. Took at least 8, sometimes 10 to get her out and in the ambulance. She was mobile below 700 pounds. Anyway, that's were you can get some.

Power and Rubber Supply in Tuscaloosa has a conveyor belt division. I’m pretty sure they are proud of their “scrap” rolls though. It seems to be a pretty big business.

If you know of anyone that works in the mines too. Or, look up conveyor belt companies. There’s a few local ones that services the mines and and ask them about getting some of the ones they took off.

PM’d you a number to a guy that sales conveyor belts and such to some mills and plants. He’s in south Alabama but travels throughout the US.

A man and wife run the Whip poor will wedding venue in Mathews AL, about 15 miles south of Montgomery. He gets old conveyor belts and cuts to order and sells them. Nice guy. A friend bought some to go down in some horse stalls and I went to pick it up. Can't remember the man's name. Phone # for the venue is (334) 850-2406. Pretty sure you can reach him through that PX.

How much are you needing?

I think I’ve got some at my farm, that my grandfather-in-law had saved for something - but I’ll have to double check next time I’m up.

Can’t tell you how many rolloff loads hauled from that place over the years.

Ask a maintenance man at a pulp paper mill , if you know one.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

Yeah, I forgot about them but it’s been a lot. I’ll call today

I don’t mind paying a fair price, I could use several tractor trailer loads

I'm glad I never wanted to be a firemen...

That sounds like the less romantic part of the job for sure.

I’m not picky on width or thickness, I could use about any width. I need several thousand feet 😜

If I have to buy new I’ll buy 3/8x4’
