Just wanted to see how safe buying off of ebay actually is and if anyone has ever had a bad experience when buying from someone there? I'm in need of a set of 8 fuel injectors for my 2000 chevy z71 with the 5.3 engine and have found a set of 8 for a really good price that almost seems too good to be true but I have messaged the seller and got a response back answering my questions and they have all good reviews with a 94% good seller feedback but have never bought anything from ebay before due to seeming a little sketchy to me.

I typically only buy from sellers with 100% positive feedback AND a fairly high volume of transactions. You can click on his rating and see who gave him poor reviews and why.

Check their number of transactions and actually click on the feedback to see what other buyers have said and why 94%. My experience is regaular sellers don't want bad feedback.

I buy random stuff there...dog collar batteries, small engine carbs, etc. Maybe one or two bad transactions ever out of a few hundred and ebay will usually intervence.

Purchased off Ebay many times over probably 20+ years, never had an issue.

I just won my first
Bid on there a couple days ago. Item shipped next day and
Should be here tomorrow. I can’t lie. I’m scared cause it was about half off.
But. We shall see.

Very few problems but check feedback and ratings. We buy a lot of stuff on Ebay. Same rules apply there as anywhere else. If its too cheap and too good to be true, it probably is.

I have always had good experiences with eBay… but 94% positive feedback is a little suspect. I cant say the same for amazon on truck parts and accessories. I know i have got used stuff a few times but amazon has always made it right.

I buy a fair amount of electrical and PLC parts from eBay. I do the same as BCLC and have rarely had a problem. When I've had to actually interact with a person on eBay, I've been treated better than by many of the local electrical retailers. I may have just been lucky, but take it for what it is worth.

94% is low for a seller rating. I stick with 98/100%

I bought an alpine 5 channel amp off there, and the guy advertised it as being able to run 4 door speakers and sub. When I get it, come to find out you have to use an specific alpine head unit, and have a special optical cable to connect the two.

He said I should resell it, I was like nope, filed a paypal dispute and he lost. That's the only bad experience I have had, but I do look at seller feedback. And there are certain things on there I probably would avoid, like Leupold scopes, due to the faking.

I agree I woudn't buy from anyone below 98%. I have brought 81 items over the years and only had one bad experience. Never shipped item and woudn't respond, I was refunded my money!

I've never had much problem as a buyer. ebay protects the hell out of you. As a seller, they seem to hate you. The robot will always side with the buyer best I can tell. One example...I sold a golf cart charger as ' not working for parts only' and went on to describe the flashing light code it was giving and would not charge. Dude bought it and then said it was broke and didn't work...well duh! ebay robot took his side and withdrew money from my account to refund him. After filing an appeal and emailing a human, ebay paid me for it but ol' dude never had to pay a dime for being an idiot. I had another guy never pay for an item and then leave negative feedback.

100% feedback is akin to a unicorn but 94 is kinda low in reality. I have 100% seller feedback but it has taken appeals and calling a customer service human about stupidness to keep it and remove ridiculous feedback.

eBay has a lot of counterfeit products for certain items.

Mitutoyo digital calipers for $50 are Chinese knockoffs regardless of the sellers feedback….ask me how I know 🤦🏼‍♂️
