I really have had great success with wms deer magnet. Some don’t like due to the cost but it’s made a difference in seeing deer and bucks for us as well as turkeys. Plus it’s an Alabama company that I like to support.

Another vote for WMS. Alabama blend planted in October and Summer Spot and Pea Patch planted in May. If I weren’t planting summer plots, I’d go with Deer Magnet in fall just for the inclusion of chicory, arrowleaf and red clover and let it ride til next fall.

Exactly what we do deer magnet wise. If we were doing summer plots we would do the Alabama blend.

I wish we could afford to plant Whitetail Inst. seed. but when you have over 20 green fields, it is just too expensive! WMS and Buck Buster blends are certainly still a little expensive, but are in the middle of the road for good blends that not only attract deer, but also give them good nutrition and last most of the time fall, winter, and spring, due to the blends.

Did the Marshall rye and oats for years. Went from seeing 1 deer if that to 3-5 which for us is a big win with the wms deer magnet. If I had a large deer density, it wouldn’t likely matter as much though

Unless you just want to spend more money than you have to, oats, wheat, cereal rye topped with annual clover/and or some brassicas

I used the WMS last year for the first time and it was the best clover plots I have ever had, I can't remember which one I got, it was $50 a bag!

I use the WMS Deer Magnet and mix in some Buck forage oats. High deer numbers . They keep it mowed pretty low but it handles the pressure well.

I let all the big landowners and lease hunters around me keep ‘em full with high dollar greenfield groceries and corn, then I give them a low pressure sanctuary with an abundance of varied bedding areas, mineral sites, and fresh water. I got more bucks per acre than a Tecomate commercial. Seminars coming soon to a town near you: $599/General Admission or VIP meet n’ greet for only $999/ticket.

I've done food plots about every way you can do them and I'm using Wax Supreme now. Cheap and effective. Use the money you save on seed for Lime Nitrogen and Fertilzer.
