Lease prices have pushed a lot of people into the small ac land market It’s not just the lease prices. It’s availability of leases/clubs in many areas. There are far more “low member, low pressure” clubs than there used to be it seems. A handful of guys with deeper pockets can lock up land in such a lease that used to provide membership opportunities to more folks. Add to that the previously private leased lands being bought by the state. WMAs may be free to hunt but they aren’t ideal for people looking for the regular deer camp experience and. If you buy right you can own 40 acres with what you’d spend paying someone else’s taxes and have full rights to the property.
