I went with an uncle a couple years ago and we put in on Perdido River close enough to the mouth that the tides influenced it. Then we went up Blackwater Creek that flows through Baldwin county, and caught several fish that I thought were Alabama bass. Would those have been Choctaws? Seems like that is their area.
I'm pretty sure those are!
Great, I'm gonna count it as another species if you are pretty sure.

I'm positive! Funny thing is I grew up in Geneva, where all bass are "bass" and all bluegill, longear, redear, etc. are "bream". For 99% of people, they still are. Most wouldn't think twice about catching a Choctaw bass as most don't know it's a distinct species still.
