Remember, this latest action was based on Israeli intelligence. I dare say it is a lot more trustworthy than ours when it comes to that region.

There was likely much interference taking place behind the scenes that delayed the program. Cyber attacks, supply disruptions, likely abductions/eliminations of personnel, etc could have been taking place. Its doubtful the US and Israel were just sitting back letting the iranian nuke program proceed unimpeded.
