I’m on the opposite end of that spectrum. I find myself getting tailgated when on a two lane and I get even slower, until they pass or we’re both doing 35.
If you are in the middle of the held up traffic and someone likes to tailgate you, like it's your fault, when you swerve to miss that grasshopper in the road (like it was a 4x4 with exposed nails) they generally back off a good bit.
Driving under the speed limit isn't just something company vehicles do. It seems like everywhere I go, people drive under. Not to mention the 5 to 10 second delay when the light turns green for drivers to get off their cell phones.
We got stuck on mothers day night, coming back from GA behind an oversize load with state trooper escort that blocked both lanes. Somewhere after Ranburne on i-20 and were stuck until we got to Anniston. Then they pulled over to the 2 left lanes, and no one wanted to pass the troopers on the right.
Speed range was 35 to 60, on a 70mph interstate. Those that didn't get around had to wait until Pell City to get 3 lanes to pass. It's insane.
People get stupid when they see a trooper. Even if the trooper is going less than the speed limit they won't pass. If they're driving 70 on the interstate and see a trooper with someone pulled over going the other direction, they slow down to 60 mph. Morons.
I ustah have a truck that was low jacked…you pop 75mph and you was getting a call from the corporate office …they fired people all the time for breaking that rule…so…you may be behind someone with no choice in the matter
But they do have a choice of doing the right thing and pulling over for 15 seconds to let traffic pass

Mostly #2 IMO. If the police would enforce the laws might get the message out that the rest of us don't appreciate it.

If the cops would give a few of the dumbarse drivers a Rodney King type beating for texting while driving it could help.
Film it for the 6:00 news and tell people this it what happens when you text while driving or go too slow in the left lane and won't GTFO when cars are stacked up behind you.
I drive an hour and change to work every day. I take back roads. For the last few years, I've noticed these company vehicles are in no hurry to get to work. Most drive 10 mph under the speed limit. I'm just trying to get to work, but they obviously aren't. WTF!
Most company vehicles these days have trackers in them and you run the risk of losing your job if you are over the speed limit, so that may be a factor.
That’s my situation. If I go over the speed limit, it sends a message to my boss and our fleet department. There is a grace time, meaning if a speed limit changes, I have so many seconds to get back in line but it isn’t much time. Add that with the way speed limits fluctuate and it’s basically setting me up to lose. So, I have to drive about 5mph below the speed limit.

Reminds me of a guy that was drinking at an outdoor venue, I asked if he needed a ride home and he said “No, We don’t have far to go”. I said “my grandkids live between here and not far to go”.
Cops were called on this one. He got what he deserved and the cops left me alone because I was stone cold sober.
