Harbor Freight has the Predator brand.
Any good? Or suggestions?

Can't speak for the predator but I bought an el cheapo from Marvins a few years back. Run nothing but 100% gas in it and it ran for 24 hours straight with no hiccups this past weekend.

I've been looking for a larger inverter generator for our house and was looking at the Predator's. After looking at a bunch of reviews, including ALDeer posts, what I saw was a large majority of folks using the mid-size and smaller generators (5kW and down) were very happy with their generators. The same wasn't true with the generators in the 9kW range. One review said he had learned from other owners it was common to have to return one or two units to get one where everything worked. Generally, on the large units, the AC power worked. The problems would be with the USB ports or the 12vDC power. All the owners said if you get the large unit, buying the extended warranty was a must. FWIW.

I asked the guy that’s doing the concrete work on my barn about the two he’s using. Said he’s been pleased, but they get run daily and never set up which hurts them the most.

They are legit and quiet, if you can get a dual fuel model that runs on propane you don’t have to mess with gas or worry about the ethanol gas

I have 2 8750 watt and never had any issues. Have both the regular and inverter. Had the regular the longest cranks everytime ran my whole house for 5 days straight after Sally. When I moved to AL the power goes out a bit more often and my electronics don’t like the dirty power from the regular style. So I bought the inverter model a while back and it’s been great so far also. But I don’t use it for anything but plugging directly into the generator plug on the house, I don’t use all the smaller connections on it.

I’ve had one for about 8 years. Used to run it at the farm in the summer time for ac. It loves gas. Burns about 15 gallons per weekend. Never had any mechanical problems

I have a Predator 3500 inverter and it’s quieter than my Honda 2200 that are known for how quiet they are.
I can run my river cabin with no issues. Lights, frig, internet, TV, window unit AC, stove, inline water pump, stereo, etc.

I bought a 2000W at HF to run ice eaters at duck camp. It kept my freezers running all weekend and didn't miss a beat. Cranks on the first or second pull every time. To say dragging a generator out to a pit or skid blind in the middle of a flooded field is hard on equipment is a massive understatement. So far, so good.

We have an inverter one, and it works great. It won't start if it doesn't have enough oil in it.

My buddy just bought the honda 3000 is. Its great and very quiet but it wouldnt start his RV ac on high with the fridge on (figured out the problem). His buddy had a predator 3500 and said he had no issues starting his on any setting so we tried it. The HF would not start the AC on low, would not start it on low with the fridge off, would not start it period. I am just saying this so you know that a watt isnt always a watt-- so buy up some if you can. They are great generators when sized right. The electric start is really easy but those 3500s are a LOT heavier than they look.
For those who might care:
We figured out that the battery charger was on, and was trying to charge a completely dead on board battery. With everything running it was drawing WAY too much for the HF but the honda would handle it starting on low, and running on any setting after that. Even hooked to shore power the cord got very warm with everything going. I didnt amp clamp it but I imagine it was pretty high.

my Predator 9k battery start ran about 36 hrs with a few breaks last weekend. had it 2-3 yrs. I'd buy another one . got it wired into my breaker box with a pigtail. wish I had done that 20 yr ago

I've got the 2000 watt unit. It runs each weekend all day when we are on The Ice Cream Boat.
No issues for 4+ years.
