saw first poults yesterday, noticed a hen in the backyard yesterday afternoon. Looked a little closer saw the little poults with her. 6-7 of them, couldn't have been very old, not much bigger than baby chicks.

We pulled up on a hen yesterday that wouldn’t leave. We never found the poults but they were there. She walked around us within 15 yds for several minutes before we left.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I've seen 4 hens in the last couple of days that appeared to be protecting a nest or babies. Never saw any but something was nearby

Good batch at my place. Saw a hen with 5 about a week ago and yesterday on our evening ride around jumped two hen with over 20 poults. I thought we had busted a big covey of quail at first. Fuzzy little tennis balls flying everywhere.

Way behind in seeing any. Only one batch of 8 and the hen seemed to be a first timer. She was spastically acting and left them twice, finally called them over to her.

Seeing lots of single hens without and hens grouped up.

Found a few busted nest

I had a couple poults on camera a couple weeks back but nothing since then. I’m starting to see groups of 3-4 hens without a single poult. Not looking good in my area. Hopefully I’m just missing them.

Not getting pics of poults. Getting hen pics though just no poults.

One place I hunt bass good built of pasture and a good population but all the hens are without poults.

They usually have quite a few hen poult groups and are visible at this time in the pastures.

I flushed 8 poults and a hen out of a plot this morning. They were about 12 inches tall and flew well.

I think I finally got some picture of a few poults. They look a lot bigger than I would expect. It could just be the camera angle.

I can't figure out how to post pictures on this site?

I think it’s safe to say it’s been a bad year around here. That season structure didn’t have any magic mysterious powers this go around. Imagine that. Just keep taking away the best hunting days from South AL, add zero birds to the overall population, and see what happens. Nothing good will come of it, that’s for sure. Every consequence of that stupid design will be negative.

Had a good hatch here. Took the wife down to bottom of the field for her morning dog walk today and 3 hens and probably 15 plus poults crossed the road coming out of my corn.

Mom and 6 siblings were in a plot with this one yesterday afternoon. Thought this one couldn’t fly since it hunkered down for so long. It ended up flying off, too
