I have a 1200 fps .17 Gamo break action and it hits hard enough to kill armadillo's. Just shot the 4th one this morning. Man, those things can jump when you dust one with a pellet!

22lr Aquila colibri are perfect for 30-40yrds out. Quietest subsonic rimfire I’ve come across. A bolt action 22 and the colibri make for an entertaining time. Scary quiet and will not disturb anything or anyone. Regular air rifles are louder than the ammo mentioned

For those suggesting 22lr or shotgun. I'm in the heart of Hoover and that would float like a lead turd. Otherwise it would already be taken care of. Probably with the .17hmr. A suppressed 22 with subsonic ammo makes virtually no noise.

Cci quiet or the colibri is very very low noise. It will do to make squirrel dumplings and gravy with.

I can't get the quiets or colibri to shoot minute of softball past 15 yards in any of my 22's. Wicked bad flyers. Worth a try I guess but don't go buy a brick while assuming they will be accurate enough.

my experience with air guns and squirrels is to go with a faster 17 over a 22. I guess a lot has changed in break barrel airguns over the years, because they were always considered the most accurate of any option out there, but they weren't cheap. I guess the flood of crappy, cheap break barrels has changed that. I've had great luck with good quality break barrel rifles (Diana, RWS, Benjamin) and I also shot a lot from a benjamin pump rifle. it was also great but it was so loud and took so long to pump it 10 times that it was a lot more of a pain than a break barrel.

Worth a try I guess but don't go buy a brick while assuming they will be accurate enough. I’ve got 3 different 22 that that they actually shoot pretty good in. Have to single load them in a 10/22 but will stack them in a tennis ball size target at 30 yards. I’ve got an old Winchester 290 tube fed that is more accurate and a bolt gun that’s on par with the 290 compared to the 10/22. I do know I bought a lot of the colibri and 710 fps cci quiets 20 years ago when 22 was super cheap. The old 290 will shoot the quiets in semi which makes for fun time but not the colibri

Narrowed it down to two rifles today.
Both are PCP .22 combos with scopes. One includes the pump.
Beeman Commander
and
Umarex Origin
Both are priced the same at $399
I am leaning hard on the Umarex because I can go lay hands on at BassPro. The Beeman has to be shipped.
During this process of researching, I came across another air rifle I absolutely have to have. Fully auto bb gun, electric with a 100 round magazine. I've got zero use for it. But I want it. It's next on the list.
