My visit to the UAB trauma center last year was billed at $28K, for about 4 hours. Insurace paid a little over $250 and I paid a co-pay of $250.
Insurance being a hassle is why so many therapists and psychiatrists don't accept insurance. You pay them the hourly rate they want, and then you file with your insurance to get reimbursed.
The whole process is a racket and a scam.
