I’m glad he’s tackling it. It’s the mixed messaging that irritates me. One day we’re bringing manufacturing back to America, the next day we’re going to just trade with China. Last week we were going to isolate China and work on trade deals then suddenly we are meeting with China. It has seemed to me that since day one there has been a haphazard approach. From the moment he showed the chart that looked like a 6th grader made it’s been confusing. I honestly think if Basset had not taken over things would have gotten bad. Now with the 90 day pause he has given Powell a reason to hold interest rates steady until the fall. I’ll be branded a communist and a liberal for this opinion, and mind you, it’s nothing but an opinion A 30% across the board tariff on Chinese goods, verses a Chinese 10% tariff on US goods certainly seems like a better deal than what we had. And with China's rising middle class, the wage gap is decreasing, so it may be enough to drive more manufacturing back to the US. I figure that Scott Bessent is a smarter international trade and financial guy than I am, so I'm contented to let him do his job, sit back and pray for the best.

You can look at companies you know and recognize , then research them. If you're a new investor in individual stocks, start small , don't jump off the high dive.

I invested $2000 a couple weeks ago through Etrade. If they hadnt screwed around for a week about the $$$ transaction, i would be up about 25% right now. The main two stocks i invested in rebounded while they were screwing around and that cost me about $300. I am up over 10% though. I guess thats pretty good for a tree climber investing for a couple weeks

I’ll be honest I don’t know much about investing, I have a 401k through my employer that I contribute to, but let’s just say for someone who doesn’t have a big lump sum of money to invest in buying multiple shares of stocks and could only afford say $200 a month what would be y’all’s advice in investing small amounts monthly

It’s never a bad time if u got time Great way to put it. If you're looking at decades out, its always a good time to invest in stocks. Even better if you're looking 20, 30, or 40 years out. For most of us, that means looking beyond our lifetime. If you need guaranteed returns in months or years, look for something else. Stocks would be speculative over years only.

I personally don't do individual stocks but I am older and want to relax.

Pretty much all turning out like Trump said it would, aint it? 😂 One trade deal with the UK done, 199 to go…. Scratch that… Well, not quite a “deal,” More like a concept of a plan: a framework for negotiations between the United States and the United Kingdom that will take place between the two countries over the next several months or years … to hammer out a potential future trade agreement … that may or may not ultimately prove more beneficial to the United States than the existing trade situation. So yeah, if he said that you’re correct You seem to have all the criticism. I don't see you providing many answers. Just bitching and moaning about the mans efforts to put the US first. My solution is the same as it was 2 weeks ago, let Scott Bessent handle it. Seems like that’s what he has done. It’s truly unfortunate that you can’t have a legitimate discussion without a little temper tantrum. You must have short man syndrome or just an unhappy person. It’s a forum on the internet…..grow up.
