The optimum time would have been last week, but I think you still have time to get in on the upswing.

A 30% across the board tariff on Chinese goods, verses a Chinese 10% tariff on US goods certainly seems like a better deal than what we had. And with China's rising middle class, the wage gap is decreasing, so it may be enough to drive more manufacturing back to the US.

I figure that Scott Bessent is a smarter international trade and financial guy than I am, so I'm contented to let him do his job, sit back and pray for the best.

Yep. Still a good time to buy, there's still some buys out there. Just do due diligence , there's a wealth of info on the interwebs. You can look at companies you know and recognize , then research them. If you're a new investor in individual stocks, start small , don't jump off the high dive.

I’m of the opinion that we will end up with 10% across the board when it’s all said and done. I think he needs the income to balance this big bill they are trying to pass. 20 trillion in spending over 10 years has to be offset somehow. And yes, I think Bessent is the smartest guy in the room

I invested $2000 a couple weeks ago through Etrade. If they hadnt screwed around for a week about the $$$ transaction, i would be up about 25% right now. The main two stocks i invested in rebounded while they were screwing around and that cost me about $300. I am up over 10% though. I guess thats pretty good for a tree climber investing for a couple weeks

I don't recall so many people whining this much when it dipped so bad under Biden. I just don't get the daily bitching and moaning about the stock market. It's doing what the stock market has always done...

I’ll be honest I don’t know much about investing, I have a 401k through my employer that I contribute to, but let’s just say for someone who doesn’t have a big lump sum of money to invest in buying multiple shares of stocks and could only afford say $200 a month what would be y’all’s advice in investing small amounts monthly

Great way to put it. If you're looking at decades out, its always a good time to invest in stocks. Even better if you're looking 20, 30, or 40 years out. For most of us, that means looking beyond our lifetime. If you need guaranteed returns in months or years, look for something else. Stocks would be speculative over years only.

An index fund or ETF that tracks the market. I personally don't do individual stocks but I am older and want to relax.

You'd be surprised what 200.00 a month will do over time.

Dang , I wouldn't like that much delay between when I put in the order and the stock was actually bought. The way the market has been the last couple of months , a lot can happen in a week. 10% + in two weeks ain't bad , you'll be fine.

One trade deal with the UK done, 199 to go….
Scratch that… Well, not quite a “deal,” More like a concept of a plan: a framework for negotiations between the United States and the United Kingdom that will take place between the two countries over the next several months or years … to hammer out a potential future trade agreement … that may or may not ultimately prove more beneficial to the United States than the existing trade situation.
So yeah, if he said that you’re correct

You seem to have all the criticism. I don't see you providing many answers. Just bitching and moaning about the mans efforts to put the US first. I was raised to provide a solution to a problem when complaining about a problem.

You seem to be raised to pop that mouth off continually with nothing but negative. No answers. No solutions. Just bitchy Karen types who wish they had more power than they do. Ultimately, they all turn out to be hollow idiots who just aren't happy with anything. Sad pathetic people.

I don't remember seeing your name on any ballots. I'd suggest you go ahead and start now, something local. Let me know where and what and I'll campaign for you. You can work your way all the way up to where you have the power to make lives better and I'll support you on each level. Just let us know when you get started.
😂. This entire board is one huge bitch session. You were actually bitching the other day about getting old. 😂. Getting old is a blessing. So maybe you should look in the mirror

Got any solutions? or you just gonna ignore that? I already know the answer. Been around assholes like you my entire life. Bitch and moan about everything. Until it's time for them to make the call. And everyone gets to see what a hypocrite you are. You're just negative by nature.

My solution is the same as it was 2 weeks ago, let Scott Bessent handle it. Seems like that’s what he has done. It’s truly unfortunate that you can’t have a legitimate discussion without a little temper tantrum. You must have short man syndrome or just an unhappy person. It’s a forum on the internet…..grow up. I’m going to grab a beer and worry about why you don’t like me. I guess you’re intimidated.

I hit a nerve didn't I? No answers. You just bitch like an old woman. I don't like bitchers and complainers. You're both. I live most members here. Got a few I'd call friends. I got no use for people like you.

Get back to me when you have an answer for each thing you bitch about. You're as useless as a poop flavored lollipop.
