With new management - when do you think turkey season will start?
March 20 would be awesome and March 15 would be unbelievable. I would hear more gobbles and may even be in a groups still

Tenn backed there season up few years ago. When i talk to one of my buddies in hunting industry over there - said it hurt the hunting - people not shooting as many
My annual trip a few years back sucked fir the first time - aint been back. I always hunted there early season

Our season goes later than Kentucky…makes 0 sense. Bring it back to March 20 if not the 15th. End the end of April. Pretty simple.

I would normally agree on ending season at the end of April but this year I killed #3 on May 7th and #4 on May 8th. I had fooled with #4 every other day for 3 weeks and he was still henned up on the 8th.

^^ I hav seen older birds still hav 4-5 hens in May
Wish it would move back to open earlier. If that happened - i would be surprised if they left it open on into May

I heard from a pretty reliable source that it will go back to the 15th, at least for the southern half, but won't be until 2027. We will see if it happens but I have my doubts.

The only bad part about starting early is that you have to constantly look over your shoulder and it kinda puts a damper on the season a bit if you get caught. I don’t think folks will feel as compelled to start early under new management. I’m for March 15th-April like most the rest of y’all

Does the morality bother you just as bad when its the folks making the rules who are the ones doing shady chit??.....The low man on the totem pole is the only one getting labeled an "outlaw" while the folks at the top are making the rules up to suite their own agendas no differently

The rule makers are just making it up as they go without having to answer to anyone……They can and are doing whatever they want to with no justification or accountability for any of it….just like with the recent 2 per day doe change……I just don’t see why anyone should expect the good ol’ boy at the bottom to be morally obligated to do any different

I’m for March 15th-April like most the rest of y’all Meh outlaws suck regardless, got nothing for anyone who starts early. John Doe has been turkey hunting for years and has legally started on March 15 ever since that date was put in place. Then, one year, the "gubment" arbitrarily changes the opening date to March 25 based on flawed "research". John Doe continues starting on March 15 just like he always did legally, but now he's a "poacher"....... John Doe legally owned a "bump stock", then one day the "gubment" arbitrarily said "oh, you can't have those anymore". But John Doe kept the bump stock he already legally purchased and owned, and now he's a "felon"..... Only difference in those 2 situations is that ALDeer slams John Doe for poaching but considers him a freedom-loving patriot for defying the bump stock "ban"..... What am I missing?

With one example owning a bump stock does absolutely nothing to harm or inhibit a fellow citizen from life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. A neighbor killing a game animal out of the season that uses several properties is directly impacting everyone else’s ability to pursue happiness by removing a public resource that does not solely belong to him. Apples to oranges.

^^ Well said
I try to always go by the law! One instance could ruin your name and influence with the public! I lov to go - but no way a turkey is worth that! You then become a common outlaw and lose all good standing and respect and influence in the community
Be interesting to see if it does open early - i gonna start on the legal date either way!!

Apples to oranges. Shew wee. Even a simple minded dude can understand that I believe. Not saying I’m pro late start, because I’m not. Sure not pro government, but that is a pretty good explanation right there.
