I am desperately looking for a dentside ford tailgate in really good condition. No rust, no dents (dings are not a deal breaker as long as they are not along the edges or top). I travel a good bit so no where in or near Alabama is too far.
Thanks,

If you mean stepside, you can buy them new from several places. Dennis Carpenter is probably some of the better quality

I don't know anything about car parts, but my parents neighbor had a ford tailgate in his yardsale last weekend. Let me know if you want a picture of it and I'll send it to you

They sure make a neat backrest for a homemade bench.

As someone always looking for bumps and dents, finding one alone in good workable condition is going to be tough. By the time you find one, get it, and put man hours working it you’re liable to come out better just getting a new one. I’ve seen some stupid prices on maybe salvageable parts. I need a 73-77 hood as mine is rotted above the battery tray. Can find them all day long in Arizona or PNW, but getting them here is an issue. I’m probably going to end up ordering one from NPD. https://www.npdlink.com/product/tailgate-original-ford-tooling/133255

https://imgur.com/a/dZgfqJ5i had to drive to Jackson, MS to get this one, & felt pretty luck to stumble onto it (and the chrome bumper) the guy was doing a complete restoration & bought a new one so he dumped this primed tailgate on FB Marketplace you’ll definitely need to expand your search - finding a tailgate that’s not beat to hell is hard

If you can wait till May and don’t mind traveling, you can probably get exactly what you’re looking for at the F100 show in Pigeon Forge. It’s May 15-17. But, unless you’re wanting to match a certain color, you’ll be better off getting a reproduction from Dennis Carpenter. This’ll be the first time in several years that I’ll have to miss this truck show, or I would look for one for you. I will be at the show in September. If you’re still looking for an original, of a certain color, I can look for one then.
