this is the last group of people to ask this bc i know what’s coming but is there a portable or handheld sewing device for thick materials like straps on backpacks, groundblinds, and the soft sided blinds??? i can crudely do it by hand but just checking to see if there’s a portable version that will work with the thicker material

Yes it's called your wife... some are more portable than others....

There I'm sure that's what you were expecting from this crowd.

So many practical things are made out of stitched fabrics and composites these days it seems like Dewalt or Milwaukee would have a gadget for it.

I sewed up the straps on my climbing saddle with something like this. The feed store uses it to sew up feed sacks. My straps are about 1/4" nylon. It did a good job. My life depends on those straps so its pretty important

Being 5’9 and 230# but with skinny legs and no butt, I either need to lose about 50# or learn to sew so I can tailor my own clothes. It’s hard to find clothes that fit well when you’re built like a miniature version of Gru from Despicable Me
